Seeing Penny's beautiful picture brought back so many memories of growing up in South Providence and The Boys and Girls Club.....I will forever cherish the good times...My thoughts and prayers are with Connie and the Nance family whom I grew up with, so many good times on Plain Street....Rest in Peace my beautiful friend.

My sincere condolences to the family on the loss of this wonderful woman. We spent a great deal of time together while walking the streets of downtown Providence looking to help runaway, throwaway and homeless youth for the Travelers Aid Runaway Youth Project. She was a very loving and caring person, with a lively sense of humor and hardy laughter.

I saw Penny 29 years ago in Weir, Ms. Happen to be visiting my in-laws and my husband I just met Thelma Nance and she goes by Penny. I had not seen Penny since we were teenagers and to reconnect was so joyous and we laughed about growing up in South Providence. I'm at a loss for words and in disbelief that this beautiful soul has passed on. The memories that come flooding back -- high school, college, marriage, babies. . .Penny taught me to grow up, put my "big girl drawers on" and embrace life! She taught me how to budget and shop. How to set goals and celebrate when they're met. I have not seen nor talked to Penny for many years but she will live on in my memories. My condolences to the family. I send all my love and prayers to you.
