Stephen Don Marshall, 68, passed away peacefully at home in Providence, RI surrounded by his loving family on Friday, November 9, 2018. Stephen was known to all as Don, but was nicknamed “Atomat” as a child. He was born on December 28, 1949 in the sweet islands of Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. Stephen was the middle child of nine children of the late Roderick Carvalho and the late Estella Rose Marshall.
He was a skilled machine operator who started working at an early age at Polymer Plastic factory in Trinidad and Tobago. When he relocated to the United States of America; he worked at Speidel until they went out of business. He was the kind of guy who would give you the shirt off his back or his last dime followed by his iconic phrase “Don’t Panic”.
Atomat had a smile that will live on through his surviving loved ones. His ex-wife, Luthel Pope, who he loved to the end and their four children, Stephen Jr, Donna, Lisa and Solomon. His siblings, Gloria, Christina, Maria, Margret (Belated), Michael, Anthony, John and Ignasus (Belated),17 Grand Children, 11 Great Grand Children, 31 Nieces and Nephews, 61 Great grandnieces and nephews, and countless friends.
Stephen Marshall was a hardworking and dedicated son, husband, brother, father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many. He will be missed by all.
