Patrica Sharon Frederick

Patricia Sharon Frederick,62, passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Miriam Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island surrounded by her loving family and longtime companion, Clarice L. Thompson.  She was born on March 17, 1956 in Washington, DC and the daughter of Morris Frederick and Daisy Beatrice Frederick (Webb).

Patricia, Pat, Tricia, Trish, as she was affectionately known as, was educated in the DC Public School system and graduated from McKinley Technical High School in 1974.  Upon graduating from high school, she attended Elmhurst College in a suburb of Chicago, Illinois where she studied Political Science.

She was married to Elijah Aderibigbe in the late 1970s and was blessed to have two beautiful children from that union; Lucy Fadeke and Andrew Adenrele.  Raising both Lucy and Andrew was the most rewarding experience for her.  Patricia shared with her children, a since of integrity, being honest in actions, accepting of consequences, and non-judgmental in thought. She also shared her love of culture and athletics with her children. Patricia taught them both how to play sports such as tennis and basketball. She also exposed them to various cultural events, throughout the years. 

Patricia was a great cook and was known for her perfectly fried chicken. In 2015 she relocated from DC to Rhode Island where she discovered a love for gardening and not only grew beautiful flowers, but also delicious tomatoes, kale, and watermelon. She was also the grill master of the yard.

Patricia loved to read and will forever be remembered for her great knowledge of current events and historical facts.  She had a great sense of humor, quick witted, and was especially kind to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. 

Patricia was preceded in death by both her parents, her brother Steven, and her beloved son Andrew.  She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving and devoted daughter Lucy, her longtime partner Clarice LaVerne Thompson (Lilly & Maggie), her two sisters Karen (Robert) and Pamela, her three nieces Serena (Gerald), Karah and Dominique and a host of other family and friends.
