Maria Elena Sandoval

Maria Elena Sandoval, born on July 13, 1929 in Jalapa, Guatemala, passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 89 on May 16, 2019 in Providence, RI. 

Maria came to the United States in 1962 and lived in New York before she moved to Rhode Island. She became a United States Citizen in 1995. She was a sweet feisty woman who had a funny sense of humor and was pretty sarcastic at times but best of all she was so loving towards her family and friends. She always had a love for flowers and candles. And she always made sure that she was dressed nicely and that her hair was done. 

She is survived by her two children, Maria Sandoval Gross and Mario Franco; grandchildren Emanuel Gross and Vanessa Valcourt; step-grandchildren, Yolanda Johnson, Sasha Johnson and Tony Johnson; and great grandchildren, Jeffrey Thomas, Valentina Valcourt and Ciel Valcourt.

"We love you forever and you will be missed immensely abuelita. Our hearts are broken but your memory will forever be with us. We love you so much mama."
