Loreen F. Barclay ,46, of Providence, RI went home to be with the Lord on February 14, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer at the Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in August 2018. Loreen was born in Brooklyn, New York, on November 25,1972. She was the daughter of the late Lee Johnson and Yevette Barclay. She spent most of her life in Rhode Island and graduated from Central Falls High School. She attended several colleges (University of Rhode Island and Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina) before obtaining her Nursing Degree at the Lincoln Technical Institute in RI. Loreen proudly served in the US Army for a period of time and was Honorably discharged after an injury. Her recent career included working as a nurse at the Orchard View Manor Nursing Home; working per diem at the Detention facility in Central Falls and Cox Communication for seven years. Loreen F. Barclay is survived by her beautiful daughter Maliyah Bernard, mother Yvette Barclay, sister Karen Barnard, nephew Daren Barnard Sherif, uncle Aaron Barclay and aunt Yvonne Barclay. As well as a host of other relatives and very good friends. She will be remembered for her positive outlook, strength, the way she spread laughter, joy, hope, passion for traveling and love for life. She will be greatly missed as she is loved by many.
