Tommy was born and raised in Providence, attended Providence schools, and was a lifelong member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church, where he was baptized. He was a talented self-taught pianist. He loved music and singing for the Lord. Tommy once said “Life without music just doesn’t make sense.” Tommy served as choir director at multiple area churches including, of course, Ebenezer. One of the proudest moments of his life was when in 1996 he rendered a private performance for Pope John Paul II in Rome. Tommy also enjoyed spending time and cooking for family and friends.
Tommy was selfless and spent his days serving others. He volunteered regularly at the St. Martin De Porres Senior Center in Providence. He was a devoted son who spent countless days taking special care of his mother until her passing. Tommy leaves us rich in memories and laughter.
