Laura McBride

Our beloved mother Laura McBride departed from this life on March 20, 2019 in Cranston, RI. She was born on January 27, 1927 in Baton Rouge, LA. and was the daughter of the late Mary Calhoun.  Mother McBride moved to Providence,RI  in 1943.  She was married to the late Freddie Lee McBride and was the mother to the late Freddie McBride, Jr.  Mother  joined Allen A.M.E. in 1966 under the leadership of the late Rev. Richard Allen. 

Laura McBride personified class.  She was a hardworking woman, who was a loving wife, mother, grandparent and she nurturer of many within the community.  Her heart was filled with love for the Lord and her family.  Mrs. McBride was kind to everyone with whom she encountered and would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. 

Laura McBride is survived by three daughters, Rita Vanover, Delores DaCruz aka "Pucci", and Ethel D. McBride aka "Diane", one son-in-law, Steven L. DaCruz, 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 15 great great-grandchildren and a host of many dear friends.
