James E. McDonald Jr.,79, of North Providence, RI passed away peacefully on December 25, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.
James was born on January 26, 1939 to the late James E. McDonald and the late Netti F. (Wade) McDonald and was the second oldest of four siblings; Cynthia (McDonald) Williams, Charles McDonald and Burnetta McDonald all preceding him in death.
He was a life long resident of Providence until moving to his final home in North Providence in 2005.
James enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served his country from May 15,1956 until May 14,1960. In 1973, he attended the New England Technical Institute of RI, Schools of Industrial and Technical Training where he earned a certificate in Refrigeration Air Conditioning Servicing. He later went on to work for Honeywell until journeying into entrepreneurship in the areas of Real Estate and Property Management, as well as, Refrigeration Repair where he continued making his living before falling ill.
He will be missed by so many who knew him as: Dad, Poppy, Grampa, Uncle, Jim, Jimmy, Jimmy Mac, Mac, June & Duck but most importantly, known as the “go to man” who looked over his entire family tremendously and would step up to help those in need in a heartbeat.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Judith Araujo, daughters, Denice Victoria McDonald, Cynthia Christine Ausby, Pamela Jean Varella, Rhonda Lea Smith, Jamie Renee Gonzalez and Michelle Francis Araujo, 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family of James McDonald would like to sincerely acknowledge the staff at Briarcliffe Manor Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation for the tremendous care, extreme professionalism and outpouring of support given to him and shown to us during his final days here on earth.
