Helen Lipscomb Obituary

Daughter of the late Tommie and Louise McCaskill and sister of the late Frank J. M. McCaskill.

Mother Helen moved to Providence, RI from Passaic, NJ In 1976.  She made her home in the area by making new friends and becoming involved in the foster grandparent’s program.  This is where her friendships base grew.  Children and adults alike lovingly called her "Grandma Helen", "Mother Lipscomb", and "Ma".

Her somewhat quiet and gentle spirit captured people of all nationalities, ages, and cultures.

She joined the congregation of Bread of Life Worship Center In 2007 where she grew to love her pastor, his wife, and children, as well as the congregants.

Her health started to fail seven years ago.  She was moved to 99 Hillside Avenue where she resided at the Summit Commons Nsg. & Rehab Center in Providence, RI. There she gained even more friends, and we the family witnessed the friendships she made during her stay there.  The family wish to thank Summit Commons for the love they gave our mother.

She was married to the late Willie Lipscomb, the mother of ten children. Tommie Lipscomb (Mamie) NJ, Mary Bailey, Ruby Fields, Jeane Page (Charlie) of GA, Nancy Penn (Ellis Charles) of RI, Dorthea Lipscomb, Helen Evette McCoy, Antwan Lipscomb (Shaneen) of NC. Annie and Riley preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memories with 36 grandchildren and 65 great children, 43 great great grandchildren, along with a host of extended family, friends, acquaintances and one spiritually adopted daughter, Margaret and her husband, Willie of RI.

Grandchildren-Kimberly, Silvia, Frankie, Darryl, Kathy, Daryl, Francine, Makala, Michael, Roxana, Unika, Derek, Latrice, Ronald, Brian, Trevor, Travis, Shondell, Ellis Abdula, Tanisha, Delmar, Anthony, Tranee, Mae, Chavazz, Antwan Jr., Charnel, Justin, Tiffany, Tanisha, Malik, Rajeeyah, Khadijah, China, Asia, and James

We the family will miss the warmth and presence of our mother, but we take comfort in knowing that Jesus only called another one of HIS children home. Thank You Jesus.
