On October 25th, 2019, Our beloved cousin, Esther “Tis” Neufville was granted her angel wings. Her final days were spent at Hope Health Hospice in Providence, RI. She was surrounded by many family members and friends who loved her.
She is survived by her lovely family, Lue Neufville(cousin) from Atlanta Georgia. Michael Peah, Augustus Peah, Mercy Peah, and Sheila Barnes(cousins) of Providence RI, Marinda Peah(cousin) of Monrovia, Liberia and Debra Peah(cousin aka daughter) of Quincy, MA, The Sharpe family, other relatives residing in Providence, RI and other states within the US and in Monrovia, Liberia and countless friends as well, in the state of Rhode Island.
Esther Neufville was born September 10, 1938 in Maryland County, Monrovia, Liberia to Wa Nyemeh Peah and Kla Dio Neufville. She spent most of her years in her country until she moved to the United States of America in 1979. Esther met a few of her family members here in the US and made multiple friends. Esther was known as a Nanny (babysitter) for many children in the Liberian community in Providence, RI. The nickname “Tis” was given to her as she was always the center of attention. When she would walk into a party, everyone would say “Who it is” and her response would be “Who it Tis” (hence her nickname), with a dance move that would have the crowd in a burst of laughter and excitement. She drew many people to her like magnet to steel. Once you were in her presence, you couldn’t help but to love her and develop a great bond with her. That was the type of special aura she possessed. A small woman in the frame but a mighty and genuine woman at heart. She was something special, a precious gem, to be exact. To everyone that had the chance to experience this wonderful human being, whom God loved so much to the point he had to call her to be close by him, I’m pretty sure you all have joyful memories of her, memories that you will carry on as long as you are here. While it aches our hearts that she will no longer be here in the physical form, we must remember that God gave us someone beautiful that we must love and cherish here and in the after life. I pray that her soul has peacefully transitioned into his kingdom where there is no such thing as sickness, no such thing as pain and no such thing as death. Only eternal life of peace, love and happiness. We must all also strive to be close to God as Tis was and as happy as she was here on earth and to one day walk into the gates of Heaven. We Love and Miss You.
