Denise Renay Griggs Thom

Denise Renay Griggs Thom, 50, passed away on June 30, 2018 at Hope Hospice & Palliative Care RI in Providence, RI.

Born August 22, 1967 in Fort Harrison Army base in Indianapolis, IN.

Upon her Fathers discharge she lived in Houston, TX and Easton, PA. She graduated from Kutztown University in Kutztown, PA and later rejoined her family in East Providence and Providence, RI.

Denise was employed by Bell Telephone Co (AT&T) and held other jobs in the Providence area.  She was an accomplished Artist in the works of oil painting, water colors, metals, etc.

She was a long-time member of the Salvation Army.

Denise leaves to cherish her memory her mother Lydia C. Thom, Sisters Sandra A. Casey and Chantel L. Brannon, Nieces Domenique A. Brown, Athena C. Holloway and Ashanti C. Ejims, Great Nephew Larenta T. Draper Jr. and Great Niece Lariah R. Draper all of Providence, RI, Aunts Silvia Thom- Weber of Chester Springs, PA and Amelia C. Thom of Indianapolis, IN, Uncles Walter F. Thom of Tacoma, WA, Michael D. Thom Sr. of Columbia, SC and Charles A. Thom Sr. of Easton, PA, as well as a host of Cousins and many other family and friends who will miss her dearly.

Denise was preceded in death by her father Weldon R. Griggs, Maternal Grandparents Gabriel and Mary Thom, Paternal Grandparents J. V. and Jennie V. Ratcliff and Charles Griggs.

A repass will be held at the Salvation Army Citadel, 386 Broad Street, Providence, RI 02907 from 1:00-2:00pm.
