Catherine Edmondson

Life Story Catherine Edmondson was born May 27, 1929 to Abram A. and Iner P. Jones in Wendell, NC. On July 1, 1950, she married Isaac Edmondson, Jr. and to that union two children were born, Jarvis Wayne and Gwendolwyn. She was preceded in death by her husband, her father, mother, and brothers Woodrow Jones, Merdis Jones, Jarvis Jones and James Jones, Jr. Catherine graduated from Central High School in 1947 and soon thereafter became employed in the Providence School System where she proudly served for 33 ½ years. Catherine came to know Christ at a very young age. She was baptized at Ebenezer Baptist Church over 75 years ago and remained a loyal, active and faithful member even after moving to Florida. She served on the Samuel L. Paige Usher Board, Celestial Chorus, and Scholarship Committee and was the 1st President of the “rebirth” of the Pastor’s Aide Ministry. She leaves to cherish her memories: her son, Jarvis Wayne Edmondson; daughter, Gwendolwyn Lampkin; grandson, Muhammad A. Lampkin; great-grandson, Muhammed A. Lampkin; a special cousin, Harriett Wilds; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
