Richard O. Nunally, age 73, of Wilmington, Delaware, a former resident of Providence, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully in the presence of his family and loved ones on
Saturday, September 23, 2017. Richard was born in Providence, Rhode Island on March 1, 1944.
He was the son of Owen Nunally and Viola (Brown) Nunally, and the husband of Glorita Jean Nunally for 30 years.
Richard graduated from Hope High School in 1962; and then attended Rhode Island College. Richard served in The United States Army for 8 years until 1968. He worked as a Foreman for a construction company for many years, the VA Medical Center in Providence for 10 years, and the VA Medical center in Elsmere for 7 years before retiring in May 2017.
He was a former member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and the American Legion in Providence, RI.
Richard enjoyed traveling, casinos, dancing, playing chess, and telling stories. He was a faithful and loving husband and father.
Richard was preceded in death by his son, Reshod; sisters, Carolyn Sweeny and Ernestine Perry; and his brother, Vernett Brown.
He is survived by his wife, Glorita; his children, Jocelyn, Rosetta, Randy, Richard, Jr., Montrell, Tiondra, Ramon, Chantalina, Marchae, ReNesha, and William; his brothers, Owen, Willie, Robert and Raheem; and an abundance of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
