Joshua Jenkins

Joshua Jenkins, 64, was peacefully called home on Saturday, August 20, 2016 in Providence, RI, surrounded by his family. He was born on January 30, 1952 in Harristen, Mississippi, to the late Joshua Jenkins and the late Augustine (Fountain) Jenkins. He was the husband of Donna L. (Stallings) Ramos-Jenkins.

Joshua attended Jefferson County High School where he graduated in 1971. In 1978, he received an Associate's Degree in Science from Fisher College. In 1982, he moved to Boston, MA and years later relocated to Woonsocket, RI. In 2006, he received his Bachelor of Arts. Throughout the years, Joshua received numerous awards and certificates.

He was employed with the State of Rhode Island for 23 years as a Court Review Office at the Department of Motor Vehicles in Cranston, RI.

Josh dedicated his life to serving God as a young man accepting the calling of God in Ministry. Also, fulfilling his mother's prophesy that one day he would become a Pastor. He worked diligently as a Pastor and as a Rhode Island Jurisdictional Superintendent supporting the district and local Church Of God In Christ, under the leadership of Harvey L. Lewis, Sr., Jurisdictional Prelate and State Supervisor Dr. Maritza Knigt.

Joshua is survived by his wife Donna L. Ramos-Jenkins, 6 children, Valerie Frye Stacker (Buck) (Mississippi), Pearlie Jenkins (Providence, RI), Josh Jenkins Jr (Middletown, RI), Kenneth Jenkins (Woonsocket, RI), Randy Klekot-Jenkins (San Diego, CA) and Ryan Klekot-Jenkins (Cranston, RI), 4 step-sons, Juan Ramos (Pawtucket, RI), Charles Ramos (Cranston, RI), Troy Ramos (Providence, RI) and Brandon Ramos (Cranston, RI) and guardianship of Salena and Jahad Kroeung and Leo Kinder (all of Cranston, RI); 4 siblings, Ben Belton (Teresa), Willie Frank (both of Fayette, MS), Carolyn Jenkins (MA) and Shirley Ann Jenkins (Fayette, MS), and sister-in-law Leslie Jenkins as well as 17 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin and other family and friends who will dearly miss him.

He was preceded in death by Richard Jenkins, Arthur Lee Jenkins (husband of Leslie above), Eloise Gibson and Thelma Jenkins.
