John Fontaine Robinson, Jr.

John Robinson, 74, of East Providence, passed in peace on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at Rhode Island Hospital.

Born in Lynchburg, VA, May 12, 1943, to John and Arnetha Robinson. John was one of four children. John had three siblings, Norma Randolph, Tony Robinson, and the late Joan Leggins.

John graduated from Campbell County high school in 1961. He then enlisted in the military, joining the U.S. Navy where he served four years.

After receiving an honorable discharge from the Navy, John would soon earn the opportunity to employ with the State of Rhode Island as a Mental Health Worker. He retired in 2004.  During his tenure, he continued his education at Rhode Island College and received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology.

John was a devoted father, grandfather, and an avid sports fan.

John is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Katherine, his two sons, John III and Jeffery. He also leaves behind two beautiful grandchildren, Isaiah and Aliyah. John is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many close friends.

John will be fondly remembered for his amiable personality and generosity.

Private services are being held in Lynchburg, VA.
