Guadalupe A. Lora 75, of Providence, RI passed away while visiting his native country of the Dominican Republic on Friday, February 9, 2018. He was the husband of the late Marisela Lora. Devoted father of Elsa Miledys Lora of Providence, Elsa Milagros Garcia and her husband Christian of Roswell, New Mexico, Cruzmary Ramos and her husband Orlando of Cranston, Dany Lora and his wife Gabriela of La Vega, D.R., Richard Lora of Providence, Dolores Valdez and her husband Juan of Providence, Maximo Lora of Providence, Jose Lora and his wife Linda of Cranston and Lubicristin Lora-Mendez and her husband Jairo of Cranston. Loving grandfather of 21 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
After a 15 year career with the National Police of the Dominican Republic, he migrating to the United States on January 21, 1977. Guadalupe worked tirelessly to reunite his family in the U.S. Over the next four decades he was directly or indirectly involve with assisting 100s of relatives and friends in earning US residency and citizenship. He was faithfully committed to assisting his church and the greater Providence community. He also spent his life as a serial entrepreneur, though clearly based on his actions; he was less concerned with making a profit and more concerned with enriching the lives of those around him.
Services will be healed at the Assumption Church, 791 Potters Ave, Providence on Tuesday February 20, 2018 at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be at Bell Funeral Home at 571 Broad St, Providence on Monday, February 19, 2018 from 6-9PM.
